But in Psalm 40 we learn about the true pit of despair, a life knocked down and far from God. Thankfully, because of God’s great love He promises to rescue us from this pit of despair and consequently, one of our most natural responses is to Praise Him and Tell Others. Jeff continues our message by looking at how Psalm 40 is a great example of how we can share our faith with others.
What did the disciples do after the resurrection of Jesus? The scriptures have plenty of ‘next steps’ but one of the recurring themes was that they were supposed to ‘’Go & Tell The Others.” They were supposed to ‘witness’ to all they had seen & heard. If it was true for them, it must also be true for us. But witness to what? Witness how? And where? Jeff explores these questions in our opening sermon of the new series: “You Can’t Stay Here.”
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ changes everything. For the early church this was the Good News: through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus we can find hope for the future and purpose for today. Jesus spoke seven times while dying on the cross and in our closing sermon for this series Jeff reads and explores each phrase. How did Jesus spend His last moments? What did our Savior say? What continued to be on His heart? May we hear the ‘dying words of Christ,’ and may we respond with awe, worship, and love.
