What did the disciples do after the resurrection of Jesus? The scriptures have plenty of ‘next steps’ but one of the recurring themes was that they were supposed to ‘’Go & Tell The Others.” They were supposed to ‘witness’ to all they had seen & heard. If it was true for them, it must also be true for us. But witness to what? Witness how? And where? Jeff explores these questions in our opening sermon of the new series: “You Can’t Stay Here.”

Simply put: sharing our faith is part of our faith. Despite this reality, many of us feel uneasy about sharing our faith or unequipped. The entire birth narrative is full of unexpected miracles, angelic visitations, and as we see this week: unexpected guests. God’s choice of having the shepherds at Christ’s birth is an unexpected one—but we can learn much from their encounter & response to God’s goodness.

We tell others through Proclamation and Power. It is a two part process. Jesus told others in these two ways: he proclaimed the message of the Kingdom in synagogues and open air preaching, and he also demonstrated the power of the Kingdom through healing the sick, casting out demons and raising the dead. We want to "do the two": proclaim the Good News with words, and demonstrate the Good News in power.
