Jeff continues our series on ‘Storms’ by looking at one of the most famous Christian holidays: Pentecost. Imagine what it was like when a heavenly windstorm surrounded by flames of fire descended upon the disciples. It created such a commotion that people were gathering from all over the city and the result? A Spirit-empowered and Spirt-emboldened witness to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because of Pentecost, we are promised to be filled with God’s presence & power, and this compels us to be ‘Joining God’s Mission Transforming All Things.’

It’s easy to forget our history with God - how He’s been faithful, compassionate, and even powerful in our past. Storms can have a way of making us forget, but Mark 4 reminds us of the power that Jesus has over chaos and how His power can grow our faith today.
