Jeff continues our series on ‘Joy’ by sharing a few Christmas scriptures. How was joy part of the Christmas story and what does it mean for our lives and our church today? As Jeff continues our series titled ‘Joy to the World,’ we once again turn to scripture seeking an answer to one of life’s challenging questions: ‘How do I navigate times of both joy & grief?’ On this side of heaven, we still experience trials, challenges, and pain but thankfully the Bible is not silent on how to follow God in the midst of this tension. What does it actually mean, how can I cultivate joy in my life, and why should I even care? Jeff starts a new series exploring ‘4-letter-words’ that Christians don’t like saying. This week’s word: PRAY. Prayer can be hard for believers which can sound like an oxymoron but most of us have felt the intimidation of having to pray out loud, pray for a stranger, or even praying for a family dinner! But as we embrace our calling to ‘pray,’ God’s Spirit will move in and through us to transform all things. In this opening message, Jeff reads from the New Testament on prayer and introduces us to ‘17 words that will change your life.’

How much of heaven can we experience on earth? This question needs to occupy our minds and hearts. Jesus taught us to pray: ‘Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’ With this prayer and other scriptures, listen in as Jeff explores what it means to be: “Joining God’s Mission Transforming All Things.”

God’s heart for the poor is seen throughout scripture. From beginning to end you see how God is providing for our needs, healing our pain, and setting us free. This same heart is on perfect display in the life of Jesus and early in His ministry. There is a party that God is preparing for us in heaven that far surpasses even the greatest parties you can imagine on earth.
